Hope at last? Light at the end of the tunnel? The standard "off the shelf" OCR that comes with Ubuntu (and other distributions) is abysmal. Several years ago I recreated a manual, using software on a MS Windows system - a task I would not even contemplate attempting on a standard Linux system. Michael
