[wlug] SuSE 9.1 again

Hi All. After the SuSE failed to boot after a couple of install attempts I tried the Knoppix live C/D. It did not boot either and showed a page of I/O errors then locked on the Knoppix splash screen. I reinstalled SuSE again making sure that the Linux partions were formatted (yes) This time the programme did run with one error on screen. Resolution x and y not entered fonts may be affected. What do I need to do to solve that? Also the modem is not configured correctly. Stupid mode is not checked, should it be?? Regards John..
