Can we bury this thread now? It's just descending into spurious logic and making small kittens spontaneously explode.
The folks have a problem and some of us are interested in the fix, should it come, in case we too run into this same problem.
Is this not what this forum is for?
A. We had the answer to the problem a long time ago - Lindsay, or someone between him and www.wlug.org.nz, has a misconfigured IPv6 configuration. I seriously doubt we can fix this for him without physical access to his system, as his skill level seems particularly basic, and it's a complex issue anyway. The workaround is that he use www2. Further discussion is pointless in my opinion.
B. The logic being employed ("I use XP and it won't work, therefore no XP system works with www.wlug.org.nz") is just infuriating, and is counterproductive. My response to this was less than tolerant, and I apologise, but I would like people to exercise a bit more common sense before leaping to silly conclusions.
C. It's a mailing list. Forums are those silly web-based things where p30p13 t41k l1|<e th1s. ;)

I accept all your comments Greig and hope we can still help cure this particular user related problem. Don't know if it is relevant or not but recently I seem to be getting two copies of everything from your mailing list, and only your mailing list. Not sure if I did something this end whilst trying to assist or not. One of your comments above comes to mind: " and it's a complex issue anyway ". -- Newbie Seeking USER_FUNCTIONALITY always!
