I see various messages about using Netflix and other streaming services on Linux but many also reporting frustrations, not just with Neflix but with TVNZOndemand and TV3. I don't know which problems and solutions are just in NZ.

On Debian Sid i run Isadora (Linux Mint 9) on VirtualBox. I can not only watch any video stream that's available but can also save it from where it loads in /tmp folder. Incidentally, it seems to have taken care of the total freeze issue when streaming videos on Debian, doesn't heat up the CPU and uses less resources.

It's not Spark preventing you access to Netflix, it's Netflix.

But a quick search seems to find that Netflix works with Ubuntu and
Chrome (I assume you are using Firefox).

Say NO to DRM.
