Like their website says, check the ALSA device matrix for supported cards.  Their really new cards aren't supported yet as they are a completely new architecture.  And yes the Audigy support is lacking in some areas.

Make sure you get the right Audigy though. The high-end, decent version
is supported, but the crappy low-end one (the LS?) won't work in Ubuntu
last I checked (I was a cheapskate, and suffered for it).
