No problem, that's a large amount of cross-posting, but you missed cc-anz haha.

Noticed this public invitation of likely interest to mash-up artists and
OpenData enthusiasts:

Not just artists and open data enthusiasts. It is for everyone (saw a tweet recently from govhack mentioning this)

GovHack is all about bringing together coders, artists, storytellers,
observers, communicators and more, from the private, public, NGO and
academic sectors.

While the group of people is diverse, were united in a single purpose
working with government data to innovate and create.

What is GovHack, anyway? Its not about cracking government its
about bringing together the power of open data and all of us to build a
better democracy and a more open government and society. Watch this
short video to find out more :)

It's a shame they have to mention the difference between a 'hack' and 'crack'. I did notice last year during govhack that MoE jobs stores passwords as plain text. They will even email you the password if you ask for it. Good job! It took them 6 months to fix their RSS feed that I pointed out to them. Still, they won't give me a job (though friends still joke about me sending them invoices).

This year, New Zealands second (ever) GovHack event will be taking
place across the country over the weekend of 29 31 July, in:

  Whangarei
  Auckland
  Hamilton

Great to see it happening in Hamilton again. Organisers (and many partaking) were also involved with global game jam.

The Hamilton page -http://govhack.org.nz/2016-events-and-info/hamilton/

At the app it vision collage meet up I invited people along and will email vision collage with details. Hopefully numbers improve from last year.

I also wanted to remix the poster into a5/6 and convert to gray scale. I'm still waiting to hear back about the license (praying for ccby) and if I can get access to svg version. I'm keen to print these and distribute.

  Hawkes Bay
  Whanganui
  Wellington
  Christchurch
  Queenstown
  Dunedin.
