[wlug] Question re: Desktop computer running Ubuntu is slow, mouse and keyboard missing commands

Can anyone please assist with this Ubuntu desktop severely slowed down, mouse and keyboard severely delayed, skipping and or typing multiple letters/numbers with the problem progressively getting worse. Internet speed is at standard mark.
