Is there a simple way for me to access my brothers windows vista computer in Wanganui from my Ubuntu box? I have access to his internet account and can get my sis in law to change the windows permissions if need be...
My sister uses "Hamachi", a closed-source zero-config VPN software: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamachi There seems to be also a similar open-source software available, called "Wippien": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wippien Both run on Windows and Linux, apparently. Maybe worth a shot? NB: I haven't used any of these tools. Personally, I would have installed cygwin with an openssh server on the Windows box and configured a no-ip.org client to get around the constantly changing IP address. But that involves quite a bit of work... Cheers, Peter -- Peter Reutemann, Dept. of Computer Science, University of Waikato, NZ http://www.cs.waikato.ac.nz/~fracpete/ Ph. +64 (7) 858-5174
