Not clearly understanding what you're doing here... Are you booting from the 7.04 CD (not 7.10 I presume - your title of email is wrong)? The dmesg and lpci output - is that from 7.04 or your old output? You're saying I think from 7.04 - did you drop to a command line to get it? If so can you tell us the output from: mount and also: cat /etc/fstab If you don't get it sorted then you can always take to the next Saturday workshop.
