My final demonstration, which I didn't get working, was with a suite called PXES. This is an initrd image of a minimal linux installation. I'm not sure which distribution it started with however. Basically, it downloads a 20 MB file which it then uncompresses into a ramdisk, and runs linux out of this. Information on it can be found at its sourceforge page, http://pxes.sourceforge.net
Looking at the SF page, it appears that the compresed file is approximatly 4.7mb. However they don't say what the resident size is in the ram disk, which concerns me about how much memory you would need to run this. If the ramdisk isn't compressed, it could take upto 15 - 20mb of ram, and once you add X onto that you are really going to be pushing a 32mb machine. Do you have any feelings about this or experiances with how much ram you do really need ? I couldn't find anything about this on their pages. Jamie
