As a developer, that's a most laudable stance. As an admin (whose boxen are mission critical), it's almost irresponsible.
Well most of the boxes I admin are either before RHEL's time and have been running what they were installed with for a long long time (eg, RH7.1) or if they are a server and run RHEL or a desktop and run FC1 or RH9. As a developer I also prefer a stable platform on which to deploy an application. Hence our deployment platform for the apps we're currently writing (in Java) is RHEL 2.1 as that was what was available at the time of the decision.
