Hello Chaps

I have a non responsive Seagate USB Hard Drive that I am trying to rescue. Under windows, the error message appears that the drive does not have a valid Partition Table.

I have tried to get it to be recognized under Linux:

glenn@glenn:$ mount

/dev/hda1 on / type ext3 (rw,errors=remount-ro)

proc on /proc type proc (rw)

sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw)

devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,gid=5,mode=620)

tmpfs on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw)

usbfs on /proc/bus/usb type usbfs (rw)

tmpfs on /lib/modules/2.6.12-9-386/volatile type tmpfs (rw,mode=0755)

tmpfs on /dev type tmpfs (rw,size=10M,mode=0755)

glenn@glenn:~$ cd /proc/bus/usb

glenn@glenn:/proc/bus/usb$ ls

001  devices

glenn@glenn:/proc/bus/usb$ cat devices

Any tips as to how I can mount the drive so I can reformat it with a NTFS file system?

Cheers

Glenn.
