
have you got the cables right ? your not trying to use a crossover cable by chance ? have you assigned the IP addresses manually or are you letting the units assign IP addresses automatically. could you give a more specific description of the network and components as its a little generic. But definitely look out for crossover cables connected to some hubs. some do not like it. John wrote:
A bit of advice please. I have an IHUG wireless connection which I can get working fine when I plug the connection straight into my Ethernet card and use an ADSL connection. However, I have a netgear router which I am using between my computers and the net. When I try and set up a network connection with this, I am choosing "Ethernet connection" - it recognises the card but when I try and activate it says 3c501 device does not seem to be present. How do I go about setting my computer up to speak to my router?
