I had a slightly similar experience with http://portal.azure.com/, a Microsoft site for running virtual machines in the cloud. I was having some issues and figured it was because I was using Firefox. After switching to IE and having no joy, I decided to check which browser were supported. Interestingly, the latest versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge but IE was not recommended. It seemed like Microsoft couldn't be bothered making it's own site compatible with its legacy browser. Chris
