You don't mention the particular model you are intending to purchase which makes it hard to answer the question. I can't find a model that matches the specs you list above on DSEs website either. Ubuntu's laptop support page for Acer at: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/HardwareSupportMachinesLaptopsAcer indicates that there is a wide range in the level of support with some models working almost perfect, others not so well.
