Just to make it interesting I now have the stream working in pretty well in firefox. A sad problem is that it is absolutely silent for some strange reason, not good for a radio stream. I use VLC to listen to streams like this. I tried the one you posted below and it works. I use the firefox plugin here to connect the stream to vlc:

mplayer would also work.
Interesting, neither mplayer nor vlc worked for me. Only Rhythmbox.
