2009 NZCS National Update - General Progress and Certification<br>03 February 2009: 12:30pm - 2:00pm<br><br>The Hub at Wintec<br>City Campus, Gate 5<br>Tristam Street, Hamilton<br><br>Join NZCS President Don Robertson and CEO Paul Matthews as they present an update on national activity including detailed information about the main drive for this year - the Certification initiative being implemented in 2009.<br>
<br>NZCS Work Programme <br>NZCS Chief Executive Paul Matthews will outline the achievements thus far in the context of the overall Work Programme for 2008/2009 including the issues NZCS has addressed and is addressing and why. This will include NZCS&#39;s work for the ICT profession, computing and ICT education standards and the community at large, and the plans for 2009 and beyond.<br>
<br>NZCS Professional Certification <br>Next NZCS President Don Robertson, who also chairs the Certification Working Group, will cover the background information and research that has lead to the development of the Professional Certification/Charter Programme. This programme is designed to ensure NZ ICT professionals gain the same opportunity as our counterparts in other countries by having their level of professional competency and skills accredited against an internationally-accepted standard.<br>
<br>The professional certification and recognition programme for ICT professionals is happening - this is your chance to find out more.<br>Have your say, or find out more <br><br>More importantly, however, this event will give you the opportunity to have your say about the current direction of NZCS and the profession generally.
