When Facebook first acquired VR headset company Oculus back in 2014, the CEO of the latter claimed “I guarantee that you won't need to log into your Facebook account every time you wanna use the Oculus Rift.” That statement, to reuse an old phrase from the Vietnam War, is no longer operative <https://www.theregister.com/2020/10/27/facebook_oculus_accounts/>. They have also threatened to ban accounts that try to share more than one headset, but have resiled from that by popular demand, at least temporarily. Candidate for quote of the week: “While I do completely understand your concerns, we do need to have you comply with the Facebook TOS.”
