I am setting up a simple sendmail replacement for an old redhat machine with a dying hard drive. I decided to use a newer distro and went to slackware. I have copied the old data from the sendmail.cf files over and everything runs well until I send a local mail from console. Instead of getting mail from user(a)domainname.com the machine name is added, and i get user(a)machinename.domainname.com Of course if you reply this gets to be a real mess. Clients accessing via pop are ok , its just local automated messages that are causing issues. I have set Dj$w.domainname.com I have commented out all classes. I added DMdomainname.com I made the start with M4, is there something I can add there that will fix this ?? I hoped Masquerade_as(domainname.com)dnl would be enough, but still the machine name appears in the mail address ... ARGHHH !!!!! I planned to add an auto mail tool, but not until this is fixed.
