I know several people who would be keen already (and now I'll have to tell them it's -not- going to be on the 24th); I'm sure we can find enough people to make it worthwhile.
Then you were fairly precipitous in telling them it was on this date, as we hadn't finalised anything. I think we can get enough interest as well, however I want to be sure before I commit to spending my weekend in a cold drafty hall :)
I can see a distro war brewing over this; I've started leaning towards Debian, and a lot of people are recommending Mandrake as a good first-time distro..
One reason distro wars get started is from comments like "I can see a distro way brewing over this.". For this installfest, the committee will pick a distribution. We started this with FC1 at the March meeting, and we'll probably continue with it. Debian is too out of date (as we've beaten to death) to be of much interest to people with recent computers. Mandrake is possible.
