After a bit more reading on MTP it seems there is a rationale for its existence. That said, it appears that the protocol has not won universal acclaim.Some people are very scathing about it. In part my post was a bit overwrought as I had never heard of MTP, but then I have never used an Android phone until very recently.

Why do you cut out completely the text and do not quote? Hard to know what/who you are replying you. I'm sure you will come back with the usual pixels costing me $$, but it's hard to understand the context. Cheers, William.
