[wlug] Getting the keyboard and mouse back after a power cut

Hi, I have a Dell laptop in a docking station running Kubuntu 8.10. After a short power cut the keyboard and mouse (ps/2) do not work. I can ssh into it but I'm not sure how to reinitialise the kdb and mouse. Have tried restarting kdm, restarting udev and removing and reloading the psmouse module (couldn't see a module that looked like it might have something to do with the keyboard), but that doesn't fix it.
