It has more to do with familiarity than anything else.  I don't feel at home using anything else anymore. :)  Windows just blows chunks and while OS X is nice but I'd rather use Linux/Gnome etc.  That is unless I can create a more familiar environment.  I tried playing with fink for a bit but it didn't work so well with a couple of the apps I tried.

Personally, I'd stick with Mac OS X on a powerbook. Unless there is 
something you really need that simply will not work under Mac OS X.
