I don't see any statement on that website as to who wrote the app or whether the source code is available for vetting.
Does anyone know something about these things?
No mention of source code, unlike some other countries. That page and the Q&A page <https://www.health.govt.nz/our-work/diseases-and-conditions/covid-19-novel-coronavirus/covid-19-health-advice-general-public/contact-tracing-covid-19/nz-covid-tracer-app/nz-covid-tracer-app-questions-and-answers> give some more details, like that the app relies in part on Amazon Web Services. They also say that, if they need the data from your copy of the app, they need to call you up and ask you to read it out. A planned future update will allow this data transmission to happen more directly (under your control?). You also have the option of deleting all data held by the app, though not of selectively deleting particular entries. There is an e-mail address for sending further queries/feedback. No doubt some will be asking about source code.
