Meanwhile the release of a new Apple lightweight laptop reveals the existence of USB-C. Say what?
Interesting to compare the latest Apple MacBook <http://arstechnica.com/apple/2015/03/hands-on-with-the-retina-macbook-one-port-wonder/> with Google’s revised Chromebook Pixel <http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2015/03/review-chromebook-pixel-2-is-still-lovely-hardware-with-limited-appeal/>. USB Type C connectors are very versatile, but forcing you to connect everything through a single port leads to a plethora of dongles. Google took the simple step of providing a port on each side: just the convenience of being able to run your charger cable to whichever side is closer to the power--now why didn’t Apple think of that?
