I have a problem burning Audio CDs in Ubuntu/Gnome. I understand you can no longer use Grub and hdd=ide-scsi to achieve IDE CDROM to look like a SCSI CDROM (I tried it and /dev/hdd disappears). But also insmod ide-scsi insmod: can't read 'ide-scsi': No such file or directory Does not work. I have also tried ln /dev/hdd /dev/pg0 That gives cdrecord -scanbus <snip> cdrecord: Warning: Running on Linux-2.6.10-5-386 cdrecord: There are unsettled issues with Linux-2.5 and newer. cdrecord: If you have unexpected problems, please try Linux-2.4 or Solaris. Using libscg version 'ubuntu-0.8ubuntu1'. cdrecord: Warning: using unofficial version of libscg (ubuntu-0.8ubuntu1 '@(#)scsitransp.c 1.91 04/06/17 Copyright 1988,1995,2000-2004 J. I can burn Data CDs OK. I have searched the WLUG Wiki and Google for the last three weeks, but am yet to find out what I am missing. It is probably something blindingly obvious, but I am yet to see the light! Any help really appreciated as this is my last problem in Using Ubuntu.
