Another question. I am thinking of buying a usb hub from Dick Smith's. On its web site it says it is compatible with Windows and Mac but doesn't mention Linux. Would they be operating system independent?

USB mass storage is a standard. You can format your stick any way you like - most are FAT32, thus compatible with Windows/Mac/Linux. Craig
