Greetings, I've created a web safe version of my presentation this evening (scrubbed phone numbers and contact details) and corrected a few spelling errors. I've also included a few links at the end of the presentation in response to some of the questions I fielded at the end of the evening. http://www.wlug.org.nz/~cmoman/voip_presentation/VOIP_presentation_20090622.... For those of you considering the VOIP route as a replacement for your phone line, consider taking things one step at a time. Ie get your VOIP up and working before going the Naked DSL route. Make sure you are comfortable with the level of reliability of your VOIP service: No power, no phone. router offline, no phone. Special services such as alarm monitoring or St John ambulance etc aren't suitable for VOIP. A good starting point is using 2talks free service. It doesn't cost anything to set up an account and gives you a few free minutes a month such that you configure and test your hardware/softphone. It's always free to make calls to other 2talk users.
