I don't have experience with Sony Vaio but do have experience with wireless.
When you say you cannot make connection can you give a few more details: - what wireless network card does this machine have? (You may need to look at manual to find out easily) - are you trying to use no security, WEP or WPA? (i.e. what are you trying to connect to) - does it work in Windows if you still have that on the machine? - can you give any error messages?

Network card is Atheros Communications Inc. AR 5213 802,11 a/b/g Wireless Adapter. Mandriva LE 2005 recognize it as this in devices, but when i try to make new connection it fails. I also cannot configure it anyhow in devices. Does not recognize it automaticly and when i use manualy driver ath_pci after choosing this one it sends me back to beginning of seting up process. I tried other drivers as well, but same result. Anyway this ath_pci driver should work as i found information on internet. And i even tried Suse 9.3 Live DVD distro, where it works. With same driver (ath_pci). Tried also Ubuntu 5.04 with similar result as with Mandriva. (It does not recognize even device). Wifi works perfectly with windows xp. I use this laptop in home network with wireless benklin router. If i should use ndiswrapper, how should i set it up, or how does it work? No experience with that. Thanx for any help.
