
John You can actually point your wifi sort of like that and it does help the signal. I have seen tests done a couple of years ago where people put a foil shield on (for example) the south side of their wifi antenna to point the signal north. It did infact reduce the signal south of the router and improved it to the north. Can be very helpfull in increasing reception in your house and preventing it spilling onto the street.
