Looking through the Ubuntu 18.10
manifest I do not find
ecryptfs (home based encryption) which had been included with the Ubuntu distributions from 9.04 through to 17.10.
Nor is
fscrypt (home based encryption) included. Fscrypt has been
rumoured as Ubuntu's replacement for ecryptfs, once they get the bugs out of fscrypt.
However the manifest does include
Cryptsetup ...
Cryptsetup is utility used to conveniently setup disk encryption based
on DMCrypt kernel module. These include plain dm-crypt volumes, LUKS volumes, loop-AES and TrueCrypt (including VeraCrypt extension) format.
cheers, Ian.
