I can remember figures showing Apple and Android neck and neck in the smartphone market, when unit shipments were already 3:1 in the latter’s favour. Also look at the magazine rack at your local newsagents, and you will see a remarkable fraction of the computer-related magazines are about Linux -- way in access of 2.38%, more like 15%. And remember that paper magazines represent actual money being spent, not just somebody clicking on a link on a website for free.
