I would also like to learn about encrypting partitons or folders and about secure communications. I can show SparkyLinux running on my test laptop. I am running the rolling LXQT Home edition based on Debian Testing. Pro: Fast, uses minimal resources. Full range of Debian applications in versions almost on a par with the latest Ubuntu. Also third party applications. Cons: Lots of updates, about 1GB per month if you keep it up to date. I can't find an easy way to edit the man menu. Hi everyone
In all that Alexa excitement at the last meeting, I completely forgot to figure out topic/speaker for this month's meeting.
Anybody keen on presenting or an interesting topic to discuss?
Is actually anybody running the latest 4.19 kernel and noticed significant performance drops (thanks to specter/meltdown)?
Any suggestions?
Ian mentioned some half-baked business with encrypting your home directory.
Quick show and tell of some non-mainstream distros?
