Is this a likely reason for the install going badly for me??? Will I need en_US/ISO-8895-1 ? just one entry? Regards John
The section you referred to did not exist when I installed gentoo. While it is not marked as an optional section, I'd say it is optional - you may find compilation takes a bit longer if you have multiple locales, but it definitely won't kill anything.
