I'd like to try Gnome. (shush :-)
Ubuntu seems to be the way to go given WLUG expertise and a read of
the wiki. Do we have any more cd's to give away? Can I hopefully get
the most recent version? How do I get hold of them? I'm on a
blistering 33k[1] modem so the more stuff I can get on cd, the
better.
Current setup: Slackware dual booted with w2k on a single HD.
Would like to replace w2k with Ubuntu. (Judith has her own box now!)
Steps
-----
1. backup Slack
2. delete w2k partition with Linux fdisk
3. intall Ubuntu beside Slack
I'm already familiar with lilo but if things will be smoother for
dual Slackware/Ubuntu with grub (for whatever reason) I'm happy to
switch.
Advice, suggestions, warnings are appreciated. Does Ubuntu come with
reiserfs?
Thanks
Sid
