The following Xtra name servers will in future only accept queries from Non-Telecom customers for domains that the name servers are authoritative for. Recursive queries for other domains (e.g. www.google.com) will no longer work. * dnsh1.xtra.co.nz ( 202.27.184.3 ) also known as alien.xtra.co.nz * dnsh2.xtra.co.nz ( 202.27.184.5 ) also known as terminator.xtra.co.nz We will be phasing in these changes from November 15th over a period of several weeks and you may wish to alert your help desks to check the DNS settings of users having problems after that. Could not determine the server's fully qualified domain name

Hello all, Just wondering if anyone might be able to give me some clues here. I started Apache on my system and the following error was returned. Apache seems to operate okay but I was getting a similar kind of error in the log files when I was running Privoxy, an advertisment and cookie crunching proxy server. When the proxy server was operating it was this error that kept slowing the response of the server. /etc/init.d/apache2 start returned 0 (success): Starting httpd2 (prefork) ..done httpd2-prefork: Could not determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using 127.0.0.1 for ServerName Any clues? DNS, host file problem. Running Suse 9.2 on PIII on a company lan. No firewall running on machine. Due to renovations being carried out in LitB.G.02, the WLUG meeting next Monday (31st) has had to be moved to I.G.02.
