Hi All I am trying to follow a howto but have so far not been able to find gcc-4.4-base_3.4.4-6ubuntu8_amd64.deb I googled it and returned a negative result. maybe it is a typo??? Download these packages from Ubuntu : * gcc-3.4-base_3.4.4-6ubuntu8_amd64.deb * gcc-4.4-base_3.4.4-6ubuntu8_amd64.deb * cpp-3.4_3.4.4-6ubuntu8_amd64.deb * gcc-3.4_3.4.4-6ubuntu8_amd64.deb o You can find these files searching a little bit in : [WWW] http://packages.ubuntu.com/breezy/devel/ Any help would be appreciated Regards John

Hello all, Are there any network pro's out there that would be willing to bounce some ideas around with me (off list) for a planned SOHO LAN at work. Requirements: 1 x MS Application 'Server' 6 x MS Workstations (existing) Plus: Firewall, Email Server, File Server It's quite a small LAN (in terms of users), but we have some special requirements. The WLUG Mailing List is the discussion-list extension of the Waikato Linux Users Group (Incorporated). As such, we expect members of this list to adhere to the principles espoused in the official WLUG Charter[1], in particular, Rule 6, which covers the activities on this mailing list. While this is an Acceptable Use Policy, the WLUG Committee do recognise the need for informal discussion among list members, and draconian administration is not the goal here. Please keep in mind, however, that your comments to this list do represent the WLUG, and while it is good to be seen as an organisation with a sense of humour, some comments may do major harm to our credibility as a serious advocate of GNU/Linux and all things Free Software/ Open Source related. Free Remote Access to LinuxPPC64 Servers for Open Source Developers

These systems are open to any Open Source Linux developer interested in developing / porting / or just tinkering w/ Linux on high-performance 64-bit IBM POWER5 or PPC970 systems. In the case of Australian National University's system - brought on-line last week - they are hosting a 4-way system w/ 16GB of RAM. This system can be a great place to test SMP and memory scalability. If any of your members are interested in working on these systems they are more than welcome to request an account. I then intend to discuss three contemporary OSS business models, their virtues and limitations, and the new trend of large so-called 'old economy' companies solving the problem of OSS competition by buying out start-ups. Then I will move on to talk about the business model of Concentus, which I believe is fairly unique, and how I believe it addresses some of the classical problems that both commercial and OSS developers face with their respective models. Anyone who has ever wondered how the heck you can make money out of supposedly free software should probably attend."
