Kind regards, Tim ---------------------------------------------------------------- New Zealand Python User Group Incorporated Media Statement For immediate release 24 September 2010 Major IT players support Python Conference 2010 Over 150 computer programming enthusiasts are set to meet at the Kiwi PyCon 2010 conference on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 November at the Copthorne Hotel & Resort Bay of Islands in Waitangi. Python, a programming language used throughout the world, has a massive following and Python conferences are held around the globe. Currently over 500,000 people are aged 65+, projected to double by 2028. By 2051, greater than 25% of our population is expected to be over 70. This increase will bring about major logistical issues in how we, as a country, care for our elderly. More people will require support, and already the ratio of nurses and care-givers to elderly clients is low. Can technology help bridge this gap? Spontaneous suspend

Hi, I have a laptop running Kubuntu 8.04 and it has begun spontaneously going to sleep a short time after I log in. After resuming everything appears to work fine. If I don't log in then it will sit on the greeter screen without suspending. I suspect there is something in my .kde/ that is doing this. Anyone know what I should be looking for? sudo command not found

Hi Sudo has me boggled ..... I'm trying to configure a group %linuxadmins .. My account is a member of linuxadmins , when I sudo iptables -h I get "sudo: iptables: command not found". If I sudo /sbin/iptables -h it works fine. Let me know if you have had problem playing flash videos at all, I've had a fair few problems with it logging up. I have tried kde, gnome, kdm, gdm, straight X windows without anything, Brand new login with fresh profile etc and still getting the bug. Chrome has its own flash plugin which still has the problem, firefox with standard plugin also has the same bug. basically after about 2 mins it locks up, the active window is still usable (ie a konsole) , and mouse moves but can't click. I can use the keyboard to type but not to navigate alt+tab to other windows etc. I can get to tty1 and back no problems but again not change windows in the window manager. If anyone has got a similar problem, or a fix, let me know.
