crossover weirdness in suse ?

Trying to help Ditar here with installing crossover, it seems to be trying to use a font that opensuse doesn't have installed? screenshot attached Any suggestions? -- This email is for the intended recipient only. Help wanted - music video clip or animation

I made a silly parody song about geeks/computers/etc . Im so-so at singing, slightly worse at editing that with music. I made a parody song however which some people have said is funny and i should have some sort of 'video clip' to go with it on youtube. I dont suppose anyone here is into video editing at all and are bored enough to make something cool up? Liz Q

This Question remained unanswered at our meeting. Google gave this result however I do not have that line in my "about:config" so I am unsure if it works or not: This does not clear my browsing history in Firefox 3.0??? I tried to get my Asus laptop (Vista) to talk to my Acer (Linux Ubuntu 8.04) but no joy. I can ping 192.168.0.1, which is the Asus's network address, but cant see a network connection in the places>network folder. I've tried both DHCP and Roaming. I had a look on the back of my Acer, and it hasnt got a serial port, nor a parallel port. My arm is getting sore from all this dead horse flogging. Glenn.

Hey all Thanks for all the good advise. You are all right, I am flogging a dead horse trying to get this internal PCI Modem working in my machine with 64Bit architecture. Could i instead of trying to get Ubuntu to talk with my pci modem, try and establish an internet connection through my Windows Vista Laptop via. my ethernet card and a 100Mb switch? The switch shows there is a connection between the two machines, as yet I have not configured a network as I don't know how. By and by, does anyone want my PCI modem? It works fine with Vista, and I'll give it away, heck, Ill even post it to you for free just to get rid of the thing.... Glenn.

I ls'd the /usr/share/doc directory and I couldn't find any listing for sl-modem. Am I right to assume that this is not installed, and if so, how can I install the package from my install cd? Hi All I got it wrong, just did some reading at Wikipedia and I have got a PCI modem and not a serial modem..apologies. I have a SpeedCom HP156M3 Internal PCI 2 Wire ISDN Modem. I did a google search but couldnt find any drivers for Linux. Does anyone know where I might find some, or is the modem just a winmodem and thats all? Glenn Morrissey.

hey all thanks for all the great information. I had a serial modem that came installed in the machine when I bought it a couple of months ago. Its a brand new computer and I couldnt get scanmodem to detect it, thats why I tried to install a USB modem instead. I can supply output of the scanmodem program if required. Thanks all Glenn.

Hi there all Is anyone here able to help me configure a Lucent external usb modem? I know that Heron detects that there is a device, because when I run lsusb: lsusb Bus 001 Device 011: ID 047e:2892 Agere Systems, Inc (Lucent) and I have tried to run modprobe: sudo modprobe usbserial vendor=0x47e product=0x2892 but nothing appears to be happening??? I dont have a device manager installed, like I do on my Ubuntu 7.04 release, although I have downloaded the gnome device manager (gnome-device-manager-0.1) I wouldnt have a clue on how to install the package, remembering that I dont have internet access on this machine makes it a real pain, because there are drivers that I need for the display that I dont have. My querry on this matter is on the Ubuntu Forums: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=5987714#post5987714 Please bear in mind that I am a complete novice with Linux and Ubuntu, but really REALLY want to get a working knowledge of it. Experienced this system on multiple different Singapore Airline flights recently. Generally fairly good but multiple machines needing rebooting - seemed to be the proprietary system locking up rather than Linux as you could see the Linux kernel booting just fine! Systems were very slow on older planes 747/777 but faster on A380 but still some parts had badly written software as some parts were fast and some parts were slow (30 second wait after pressing a key). A380 has full OpenOffice installed and a USB socket so you can work on documents on your USB key.
