I am back in the country breifly and intend taking
my machine to the "fixit" meeting on Saturday with the hope
of gaining more a more functional machine. The purpose of
this email is to give some prior warning to anyone who may
be going to help
Acer 500x inspire laptop amd64
I have made some attempts to get help on irc but every
time I get someone who seems to knowledge the sever reset or
some other drama occured.
Broadcom bcm43xx air force one Wlan
SiS grapics
VCL and Totem-xine dvd players
Wish list:
1 Get the wlan up and operational.. Have tried a
couple of things and am now stuck after blacklisting the bcm
and not being able to reverse the command.
2 Would like some sort of graphics accelleration,
the Sis card is not very linux freindly
3 Able to play dvd's I have done a number of
installs plus added plugins but still no dvd playback Totem
reports that I may not have "libreaddvdcss2" I did add this
but unsure of if it is working as the update is highly
experimental.
4 Some sort of emulator so that I can play around
with some MS programs.
If you feel you can help I would really appreciatte it.
